The first stage is building your foundation or base by improving your muscular, cardiovascular, and metabolic system. However, you are only as strong as your weakest link and by addressing your strengths and weaknesses through a segmental process, per•form will be able to help you increase your muscular strength and endurance tolerance. This process also includes looking at your limitations through a segmental asymmetrical approach. In other words, if your pistons aren’t working efficiently in your car, they will affect the overall performance of your car. Building the foundation is essential to establishing a healthy platform for higher endurance and efficiency.
The second stage is training the energy systems. per·form prepares athletes by block training into more manageable units: quantifying training, setting specific goals, measuring outcomes and allocating time for interaction of different components for all phases. With this approach, you then follow a training plan broken into different phases of Periodization:

Some athletes don’t want to dedicate themselves to a full time training program from a coach, but would still like to get intuitive guidance from a professional coach. Your per·form coach will interview you about your current fitness level and self-coached training plan, and help guide you in the right direction each week.

per·form certified coaches understand how to train according to individual tolerances, specific exercise decisions, machine break down and how to strategically manipulate exercises to fit an individual’s sport specific needs. Your 1 on 1 coach will build a training program specified to your periodization program requirements, focusing on weight loss, muscular strength, power, stability and symmetry.

After having your run video recorded and interpreted by a certified running coach, you will receive a customized training plan that specifies the running drills, flexibility and strength exercises needed to improve your running mechanics and abilities.
